Car history: |
The headline says it all! This car was featured in several Vette magazine issues back in 1999 thru 2001. The car was purchased 9/30/1975 from Jack Wall Chevrolet in Pasadena California. It stayed in the possession of the original owner till 5/1/1999 when it was purchased by executives from Vette magazine for the purpose of a complete resto mod. The car has been completely modified and fitted with a brand new crate LS1 GM part # 25534322 along with a crate 4L60E auto transmission part#24210673. Considering the cost of both these units together would be well over the $11,000 dollar mark. Neither the engine or the transmission have any miles on them, they are brand new. The engine wiring harness has been installed on the engine, but has not been hooked up yet. This should be a fairly easy process since all the wires are color coded and labelled with there specific location. The accessories that are installed on the engine including the AC compressor and water pump. You need to understand all the work done on this car has been done by professionals and not a standard grade job, but more a "show car" type job. It took over 30 hours to retro fit the engine and trans combo so it would line up perfectly. This type of modification must be done right and was in this particular case. The trans linkage will need to be hooked up, I am not sure what that will take. I haven't looked at it very close. The suspension to my knowledge is all original. The car comes with a brand new set of aftermarket rally wheels and trim rings and center caps. The car has a custom aluminum fuel tank that fits in the exact location of the original steel tank. The tank is equipped with a electronic fuel module (sending unit) to supply enough fuel pressure for the LS1. The body is in primer due to the fact that new custom nose cone and rear tail piece have been installed. There is one very important fact about the body of this car that you must know. This car has never been involved in a collision, ever! There is no prior collision damage period! The car is white originally. I have tried to supply as many pics as possible so you can get an exact idea of the condition of the car. The car has sat for three years (inside always) and has a terrible coat of dust. The interior is intact and is good shape. The door panels have been removed and are inside the car. The front carpet has been removed, but I believe there to be a complete carpet kit in the box inside the car. The dash is perfect as it should be. All gauges are intact and nice. I have every reciept that has ever pertained to this car, full documentation of its entire life. That brings me to the final things about this car. The original owners manual comes with this car and is autographed by Elfi Duntov, the widow of Zora-Arkus- Duntov( the father of the Corvette)! He was the GM Engineer who perfected the Corvette over the span of the C1 thru C3 Corvettes. Please call 580-819-1516 with any questions. |
